All good, we asked ourselves the same thing. The battery can export/sell a small amount of energy during 'peak times' which allows energy companies to make extra income from the power grid, instead of from their customers.
In return, the energy company will install & maintain the backup battery equipment at no cost to the homeowner and can offer an electric rate much lower than the regular market price.
Any energy that is sold off will be replaced like it was basically never gone. Most importantly, by energy will not be sold during outages (by law!) so don't worry about having a drained battery when you need it.
Nope, homeowners will just pay a less-expensive monthly bill like they are already doing. Plus, they won't have to worry about power outages anymore.
Installation costs, permitting fees, cancellation fees, etc. are all covered as long as the customer passes a soft-credit check with a score of 620 or higher.
Equipment, labor and performance are warrantied for 25 years and can easily transfer to the next owner.
The battery is included in the 25 year warranty and will be replaced at no cost when it has degraded below the capacity threshold or if it is damaged outside of your control.
The equipment will be also be monitored so if there is any issue, we will reach out to the homeowner and schedule a time to fix it at no cost.
A minimum amount of solar panels are needed to recharge the backup battery; especially useful when there's an extended power outage.
The backup battery shouldn't remain fully charged at all times and occasionally needs to 'cycle' (discharge/recharge) a partial amount of energy to maximize performance.
Without solar panels, the homeowner would have to recharge their battery from the grid which is both impractical and expensive.
Any surplus energy from the panels/battery will be credited to the homeowner to give them a lower monthly bill.

It usually takes 30-45 days for completion based on how quick the utility and/or city permits are processed. The actual install itself takes about 1 day but sometimes 2 days if extra electrical work is needed.
